Draegols, second in age only to dryads in Prismatia, boast a long and esteemed history, having protected the realm for millennia. They share a deep pride in their heritage, believing themselves direct descendants of the gods Rugnar and Grainia. Draegol myth tells of the gods’ passionate love igniting an eternal, radiant flame within every Draegol’s heart.
While their true forms are immense and awe-inspiring, requiring vast magical energy to sustain, a Draegol in their true shape typically averages 20 feet tall and 25 to 30 feet long. Their mighty bodies fall into six distinct categories, each aligned with an elemental magic of Prismatia and adorned with shimmering, armored scales that reflect their respective affinity. To conserve their energy, Draegols frequently adopt humanoid forms. Even in this compromised state, they retain their formidable skills, exhibiting skin subtly tinted in iridescent, gemstone hues, along with sweeping scaled tails, horns, and leathery wings. Their hair varies greatly in color and texture, from locks to smooth, flowing tresses. They characteristically possess piercing, intensely colored eyes with slit, lizard-like pupils. Draegols can transform between their humanoid and true forms once per day at midnight and can hold the form for 2 full minutes, without consequences. Beyond that time, they begin to rapidly lose magic charges and HP.
Often perceived as reclusive, superior, and somewhat arrogant, many Draegols originate from ancient noble families. They abide by a rigid honor code and a demanding sense of decorum, carrying themselves with a regal, predatory grace.
