Wytches, an ancient and often aloof kindred, have served as protectors of magic’s secrets for millennia. Revered by some as descendants of a magic goddess and by others as humans transformed by Starglass, they possess a profound connection to Prismatia’s inherent magic. Their magical aptitude is largely hereditary, with over 95% born with some magical ability. Those without, though accepted, often face subtle disdain.
Deeply attuned to Prismatia’s celestial sphere, witches innately sense shifts in the stars and are captivated by planetary movements, granting them the ability to call upon the Stars for guidance. While capable of flight, they require a physical aid such as a staff, broom, or umbrella. Uniquely among Prismatia’s kindred, wytches can directly channel magic to cast spells without needing a conduit.
Physically indistinguishable from humans except for their near-exclusive white or silver hair, witches share similar variations in height and weight but live considerably longer. Many hail from noble lineages, including the esteemed Everstar family and the Illustrious 13. A sense of superiority over other kindred is common, contributing to their aloofness and penchant for luxury. Wytches frequently intermarry with other kindred families, primarily to strengthen and perpetuate magical bloodlines.
