Rillifane

Lord of the Wilds and Sovereign of the Beast

“The forest offers shade to all who enter, but it makes no promises to those who forget how to survive.”

Rillifane is the living, breathing essence of nature in its truest form—neither inherently good nor evil, but untamed, eternal, and fiercely primal. He manifests as a towering, majestic chimera of the wild, combining the attributes of the creatures that stalk, leap, and soar across Prismatia. He possesses the powerful, deer-like haunches of a stag, a broad, muscular torso, and severe boar tusks gleaming from a rugged jaw. A thick, grey wolf’s tail sways behind him, while sprawling, moss-covered elk antlers crown his head like a living canopy. His eyes burn with a sharp, ancient animal intelligence that sees through pretense and weakness alike. To stand in his presence is to smell damp earth, pine resin, and fresh blood—the raw smell of life and death locked in an endless cycle.

Rillifane embodies a profound paradox: he is deeply hospitable, yet entirely unforgiving. He welcomes any traveler, beast, or mortal into his domain, offering the bounty of the woods, shelter beneath the boughs, and fresh mountain springs. However, this hospitality comes with an unyielding condition: one must respect the natural balance. He holds no sympathy for those who waste life, pollute the springs, or act with foolish arrogance. In Rillifane’s realm, there are no second chances; the cold winter will freeze the unprepared, the predator will claim the weak, and those who break the laws of the wild will find themselves hunted down by the very forest they sought to conquer.

Because Rillifane is the father and protector of every animal, his worship is one of the most widespread across all of Prismatia, uniting cultures that otherwise share nothing in common. His influence stretches from the delicate, sun-dappled butterfly temples of the fairies—where he is venerated as the gentle guardian of pollinators and gentle woodland deer—to the dark, bone-strewn wolf altars of the Obsydia, who pray to him as the bloodthirsty pack-leader and spirit of the stalk. Rillifane accepts the devotion of all, from the hummingbird to the Bear, understanding that every creature has its place in the grand ecosystem of creation.

Rillifane is worshiped by hunters, rangers, druids, beast-folk, and survivalists across every continent. His shrines are never built with worked stone or iron nails; instead, they are living archways formed by entwined tree roots, natural rock overhangs, or ringings of bleached bones left in deep thickets. His clergy—composed of wild-shaping druids, beast-masters, and solitary trackers—do not preach from holy texts. Instead, they honor Rillifane through the act of the hunt, ensuring that no kill is taken without gratitude, no resource is wasted, and the boundaries of the wild remain safe from civil expansion. To survive a harsh wilderness trial, to honor an animal’s sacrifice, or to live in harmony with the natural order is the highest prayer to the God of the Wilds.
